Change Gear Calculator Change Gear Calculator (ChangeGear) © is a 32-bit Windows program for calculating changes gears for both differential and non-differential hobbing machines, rack generating machines (e.g. MAAG) and V-wheel generating gear grinders (e.g. Niles). ChangeGear's main window contains inputs to describe the gear geometry and cutting parameters. The desired machine is selected from a list box. The allowable errors and the minimum and maximum change gears for index, lead/roll and feed gears are also entered. ChangeGear's "calculate button" causes a new set of change gears to be calculated and displayed on the table on the screen. If suitable change gears are not found, the inputs can be easily changed and the calculations run again until suitable change gears are found.

Report Preview The Preview Button displays the report so that it can be preview before printing. The screen also provides text boxes so that specific work order information can be entered.

Machine Parameters Multiple machines can be easily added and edited. All that is required is the index constants and lead/roll formula type and constants. However, as additional information is entered better fitting changes gears can be calculated.
